new hair cut

I got a new haircut, an a-line. It's a big change for me, but unfortunately I don't have any pictures because I have a little bitchy sister who likes to cam-whore. :\ Le sigh...Oishijanai. But that's okay. I'm not photogetic AT ALL. I'd rather you guys see it in person :D

Dylan left about an hour ago for the Philippines...I was crying a few minutes after we hung up, but then I kept telling myself to suck it up and stop being a baby. Like he said, "We'll survive this! Sheeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit."

Sheeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. Gotta keep my head up and keep myself preoccupied until he comes back home to me. :D

twilight series

There's going to be a fourth book in the Twilight series! :O It's called Breaking Dawn. I nearly shit my pants. But dammit...they're making a movie out of Twilight :\ But I'm actually not too disappointed. The actress they picked for Bella is actually pretty good. She resembles a lot of how I imagine Bella to look like. Hopefully she can act >_<

And the might-be-actor for Jacob? I think is a LOT hotter than the might-be-actor for Edward :P

(This post was mainly for Heather, hahaha.)

what are you grateful for?

I'm so grateful to have in my life my amazing parents who are supporting me in my decision to major in Japanese--the one thing I'm truly, truly passionate about. I don't know where life will take me with a Japanese major, but I'm curious to see where it does. I know that a lot of my relatives look at my decisioin with disapproving looks because it's not a major that'll "make the money" right away, but my parents understand that this is something that I want to do. I'm so excited (and nervous) to study major in Japanese.
I'm so grateful to have Dylan Karaan in my life. I've learned a lot about life through him more than anyone else. I really like how opposite we are. It has really affected my perspecitve on things in life that I wouldn't have thought of myself. It has made me much more open-minded than from what I used to be before I met him. I just love the balance he gives me in my life--literally the ying to my yang. We've been through a lot together, and that has only made me stronger. I love and care about Dii-chan a lot <3
I'm so grateful to have Matt Louie in my life. He's had my back since I met him and I'm really happy he's one of my best friends. I know that no matter what I can count on him when I'm in a rut. He has always been someone I could turn to, especially through all the depressing shit that happened to me in the past. I'm always looking forward to our Starbucks Wednesdays haha. Thanksssssssss a lot Asshole!
I'm so grateful to have Akiko and Aurora Aspillaga in my life. They are honestly the strongest people I know, and for that I put them in such a high regard. Akiko has also been there a lot for me during the bad. Whether it's gossiping about Arashi or singing Otsuka Ai and Utada Hikaru songs, I always have so much fun with her. I love my Kinky Kiko Keiko Akikooooooooo :D And Tita Aurora--her hospitality is amaziing. She's so kind to let me stay at her house all the time. I kind of idolize her--someday I want to travel the world just like she did.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!!!

fashion blog? me?

I think it'd be fun to start one. I already have a title for it anyways! "Mango Mangoes!" XD I post a lot in the teen vogue forum and everyone knows me there as mightymango. For some weird reason, a lot of them comment on my screen name more than what I actually post on the forum...:\ The fuck is with that? Haaaa. It's kind of amusing actually. At least I know they've read my post because they're attracted to my weird screen name.

Anyways, I'm tried of seeing even on the Teen Vogue forums girls who post PLAIN, BORING, EVERYDAY CLOTHES and then a lot of people comment going, "Oh my gosh so cute!<3" Where's the originality? The uniqueness (is that a word)? Even though I don't have all the clothes I wish I could have, I want to start my own blog just so I have a place to rant about, well, fashion. I love quirky clothes, especially the things I see in the Harajuku store in Japan Town (OH MY GOSH *_*) Even though how I dress may not be the most unique, I like to think I dress differently than the normal Tilly's kimono type printed dress and Ugg boots. :P

(And...I might also use the blog to ramble on about Asian media...like music, dramas, manga, anime and video games. =3 Of course...)

When I post up "Mango Mangoes!" I'll post the URL here :]

I think I've finally reached the uber status of geek. I will rejoice the day that I can actually pwn his ass at SSBM...one day, one day.

So I decided to use Shiek, not Young Link. =3 For anyone that cares...Alex if you see this who are you going to use?

recitals

I miss my piano recitals. I miss dressing up in a fancy gown and enjoying all of the beautiful music. I miss that big moment when it's finally your turn and the announcer calls you up to the stage--everyone watching you as you take your bow and place yourself neatly on the piano bench. I miss how much my fingers would shake the moment before I pressed the keys. I remember everytime I was up on stage, I wouldn't even think anymore--my hands would move themselves. I admit, this is probably due to stage fright. But it's such an awesome feeling when you hit that last note and the audience is so quiet, waiting for you to stand up and take your second bow. And then the giant applause from the audience can only bring a smile to your face as you realize that in the end, there was nothing to be frightened about.

Most of all, I miss how...cultured it felt to be there. Maybe that's not the right word, but everyone was dressed up and classy and having a good time. Even if you weren't playing anything "fancy" like Beethoven or Debussy everyone still cheered you on in the end. Even though I wasn't playing very difficult pieces (ie "La Chase" by Burgmuller (?)), I still felt like all of the hard work I put into the simple piece I played was definitely worth it.

I miss the piano. :[ I miss Kumiko-sensei...

"GET OUT OF MY LIVING ROOM AND GO HOME!"

Lololololol. Something always happens when I stay in this house, I swear. Ahhhhh. Sometimes I feel so reluctant moving here, and other times I get so excited. Sad I know, but one thing I'm looking forward to is the fact that the mall here in Fairfield is better than stupid Northgate. :P (Then again, I'm sure it's not hard to find a mall to top Northgate :P)

Yesterday was actually better than I had hoped. I just thought I'd be able to do a little shopping with my tita and my cuzzos, but instead we ran around doing errands. -_-* Three and a half hours later we're at the mall...and I ran into Ryan and Evan! :D (And their friends I don't know.) It was nice and random to see them again. Ryan got stabbed in the arm by a little kid with scissors at the Boys and Girls Club >_<. Afterwards, my tita actually invited Dylan over o_o I was pretty surprised about that, but it was nice. He's going to come by again tonight, yay! ^_^ My little cuz Ethan freaked the FUCK out though hahaha. (Hence the subject of this post.)

It was kind of embarassing this morning because when I woke up some of my friends from Vacaville were in the room watching TV. My hair was...scary and they looked at me and laughed, "Oh wow she's awake now!" Geez...I wish someone would've woken me up to tell me they were there. (Stupid nugane hair! Ugh!)

homework is done! yes!

Ahhhhhhh. Homework's finally done. Just gotta study my butt off now! This summer has been so...busy. But hey, that's what it's like if you're working at two hospitals at the same time. =3 Now that it's August, I can get ready to pack and clean the house and move. (I also get to visit Dominican U on August 10! Woo! Anyone want to go with me? =3) There are people I want to hang out with, but I'm seriously the laziest person on earth. I'm too lazy to take the initiative. Le sigh...Also I kind of want solo time right now so I can play all of the video games I wanted to beat this summer and watch all of the things I need to watch. =3 Heeeeeeeeeee. Sorry everyone...I know I'm a butt. When school starts, hopefully I can hang out with people.

"peelings" -happy slip

While I admire people who can play all of those really hard piano songs, they can't win me over unless they really show some feel to the music. Sure, you could have the tempo right. Great, you didn't make a single mistake. But it's so boring to watch a person play with just their hands and arms moving. I love seeing piano players who totally get into the music; so much that their bodies rock back and forth to fast beats or gently sway side to side to a soft melody. Those are the pianists I truly respect and love watching...like my Kumiko-sensei! :D

I've been playing a lot of piano lately (well my keyboard...) and I'm really happy because my sight-reading is getting a lot better! I still write what the notes are on the sheet music so it doesn't slow me down while I'm learning the song, but it's getting easier to write them down. I'm working on random pieces here and there, never on one thing. I don't like to concentrate on one piece =3. That gets boring:

"Dearly Beloved" -Kingdom Hearts
"Hikari (Simple and Clean)" - same as above
"Albumbatt: Fur Elise" -Beethoven (Trying to perfect this fucker, ugh! It's just not the same without a pedal though...:[ )
"Zelda's Lullaby" -Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (arranged piece)
"Hyrule Castle Theme" -same as above
"Song of Storms" -same as above
"Saria's Song" -same as above

So those are the songs I'm working on. I want to print the sheet music for "Treasured Memories" from Kingdom Hearts because I looked over the sheet music and it seems really easy to play. Haven't been working on "Daisuki dayo" by Otsuka Ai lately, but I'll definitely get on that one, too.

P.S. Yeah, I know. I'm such a dork...but I love playing video games songs =3
